A nation out of the tribe of Judah! The same nation that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was called from! Being mindful of our own nation here in America as well as all nations, we ought to always pray.
Who is Habakkuk? Habakkuk or Habaqqua is a Hebrew name derived from the verb habaq (embrace). Habakkuk is a prophet of GOD, called by GOD to pray for the nation! His name means embrace or cling. He chooses to cling firmly to GOD regardless of what happens to his nation! Habakkuk 3:1 says I have heard all about you LORD and I am filled with awe by the amazing things you have done. In time of our deep need, begin again to help us, as you did in years gone by. Show us your power to save us. And in your anger, remember your mercy!
There are many people who don’t understand why things are happening in the world today. Habakkuk 2:1-4 says "I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: Write the Vision and Make It Plain on tablets. That it may run who reads it. For the Vision is yet for an appointed time. But at the end it will speak, and will not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold the proud, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith." WE ARE HABAKKUKIANS!
